Hello, Hazel here, and today ....... we look at an Average Joe's day (yep - that is Joe Hart to you and I) ....
Anyone who's ever watched the Baumhaus webcam (and who wouldn't - it's addictive stuff!) knows that Joe in particular can seem a little, err....inanimate at times.... Having had the privilege of sitting opposite Joe for most of the past few months, I am happy to reveal that he is like a swan, appearing serene and unflappable on the surface whilst paddling for all he's worth beneath the surface. When he's not at his desk serving customers, booking deliveries and waiting for Phil to get off the phone, Joe is also a great guy to work with, and if anyone ever bothers to ask me what the best thing about working at Baumhaus is, Joe will be my answer. Today Joe has been busy packing vans ready for deliveries, dealing with customers, unpacking boxes full of new goodies for me to photograph, and otherwise "unavailable" at his desk. I took the opportunity to give you all a brief insight in to Joe.
Here is Joe's chair. Much like everyone else's chair (except maybe with a slightly more pronounced indent!) this is where Joe sits, obviously. Inexplicably, the carpet surrounding Joe's chair has a mysterious amount of large stains that for legal reasons I've airbrushed out of the photo.

Next up, with have Joe's desk. At Baumhaus Anne has a strict 'clear desk' policy, meaning that we all have to go home with a clear desk, irrespective of what we've ferreted away in our (desk) drawers in between times. For some reason, during the day, my desk always look like a small bomb has gone off whereas Joe's desk always looks a lot like this;

Determined to uncover the truth behind Joe's outwardly cool, calm and OCDish behaviour, I had a quick scoot through his drawers while Becky kept watch for any sign of activity from the warehouse..... Joe's top drawer revealed nothing of any interest. A couple of delivery notes, a stapler..... on to drawer three..... Again, one lonesome delivery note.... and then, in a Deal or No Deal moment, we struck gold!!! Drawer Number Two houses not just the ubiquitous delivery note but also Joe's calculator! Result! Joe is a self-confessed calculator novice and so this golden nugget intrigues me greatly... just what is he getting up to in his spare time?
Dun Dun Dunnnnnnnnnnn! Watch this space for more of Joe's shenanigans.....
