Welcome to my new Autumn-Themed Blog!

So what do you think? Do you like it? I've tried to embody everything that is Autumn (or 'Fall' if you are a Johnny Foreigner) ... funny coloured leaves, misty mornings and a general embracing of the colour brown.

Lots of people say that they love autumn because it is so vibrant, but I bloody hate it because it signifies the start of winter.... at least six months of cold, grey miserable-ness.

Pic.No.1. An autumnal view of Oxford from Boar's Hill

I would rather be a sun-bunny any day. So come on, let's have a chat about autumn.... starting with you leaving a comment below... !

  1. As you know by having frequented my humble abode recently my garden is surrounded by trees! My garden resembles that of a compost heap at the moment and due to my extending belly and my heavy work schedule I really can't be arsed to sweep up the slightest leaf.... so combined with leaves compost, rain and dog piss, my garden is smelling alot like a tramps knickers.... baa humbug to autumn!!! xx

  2. Autum to me means it gets gold down the railway and makes me grateful for the fact that in the week I work from home and my commute is up the stairs to the office with a cup of coffee.

But it is a super time of year for photography so get out there in the sunny days with a camera and take pictures of the local countryside you can't beat it.

  3. I love Autumn. I get fed up of all that green and brown, green and brown, green and brown, will it never end? And then suddenly there's all these reds and oranges and, wahey, less boring or what?

  4. I love Autumn...

no humidity, temperatures in the 80's. Blue blue skies...
Grass doesn't grow so much = less mowing.
    Beautiful sunsets...
    Shall I go on?

  5. It is odd that autumn is my fave season considering that the season after it sends me in to seasonal depression that has my brain tied in knots for 4 months. I just can't resist golden sun and cool breezes. :)

  8. Funnily enough Autumn/Fall (which is actually Spring here) is the one time of year I feel very nostalgic for the Northern Hemisphere, Halloween doesn't seem the same on a glorious warm sunny evening and whilst Australian gums are glorious they don't change colour - so go the browns, reds and golds of Autumn

  9. I'll have you know that I am the edumicated sort of country bumpkin that actually knows that Fall is Autumn or is it Autumn is Fall? Dammit....maybe there was a hole in my edumication after all! =) *snort*

Love the new theme...very nice! =)

Unfortunately we haven't had so little rain this year our leaf color is going to straight to brown and down...it's kind of sad actually...so share pics with us of the colors over there...I have to live vicariously through SOMEONE! On that note...tag you're it....sucker! =) XO

  10. Orange and golden hues?

Poppycock, it's so sodding gloomy you can't tell what sodding colour is what.

It's coming up to four in the afternoon, AND IT'S GETTING DARK!

    And it's lashing it down.

Autumn can blimmin' well shove off. Bring back the speedo weather.

  11. I love what you've done with the place. And Oxford and the surrounding area are gorgeous. How I'd love to have a good gallop across that lush greenery. I'm glad to be out of summer, even though ours was comparably mild this year. I'm so ready for snuggling sweaters and scarfs, a fire in the fireplace and a glass of warm brandy.

  13. In the words of the immortal bard; 'Neither an autumner or a winterer be'. Or something.

At this stage of the season it's nice; blindingly sunny but coldly crisp days (what we country-dwellers would call 'hunting days'), all very gorgeous.

But the days of cold, blistering rain that we're going to have in a couple of weeks? No, I don't need them.

  14. I'm an olive-toned brunette who has a birthday in early November, so I'm the queen of all things Autumn. I won't make you refer to me as "Your Highness" during this season, though. I'm sorry you don't like this part of the year... just think, it could be worse. It could be winter. Or is that not as bad as the anticipation leading up to it? I think the birds (and the elderly Americans) are on to something when they fly south for seasons...
