If only all problems were so easy to overcome. Whilst at the Cornbury Music Festival, I suffered from a dose of muppetry and managed to lose my pink 10MB Casio Exilim camera, containing all my blog photographs.
One minute I had it in my hand ready to take a photograph of the festival car-park (yep, that's what you're missing out on folks), the next I got slightly distracted by a child walking past randomly dressed as a gingerbread man, and then when I looked, my camera had disappeared.
Pic.No.1. If anyone finds one of these at Cornbury, please, please hand it in to lost property
Evidently, safely holding onto an object whilst looking at a giant gingerbread man was a multi-task too far. To be frank I was quite gutted about it because I now no longer possessed any gadget with the ability to take pictures, particularly after I dropped my iPhone down the toilet a few weeks ago. Even worse than that, I had lost all the pictures I had taken at the festival especially for this blog.
It's not all doom and gloom though. On a positive note, if I was a normal human being, I would have been bereft by my loss. But, because I suffer mishaps on a relatively frequent basis, it is almost like I have immunised myself against the distress. My superhero power is Gadgenating.
So, what's a girl to do? Well, I have already approached friends who were at the festival and asked if they could send me the pictures that they took so at least I can cobble together a blog posting, but that might take a while and doesn't solve the problem of not having a camera.
I am a bit hesitant to put in another insurance claim because I am already on first name terms with all the people at the insurance company. In fact if I were to get married, I would probably invite some of them, despite the fact my premiums are starting to edge in the direction of the National Debt.
Hell, I think I am going to have to resort to fashioning a pinhole camera from a shoebox, which means that all my blog pictures will be upside down. Bummer.
Any suggestions to this recent crisis will be gratefully accepted.

The camera loss was an accident. The phone loss was a bog standard problem.

Look on the bright side it did not rain....
DOH... you realy are useless sometimes!
Come over here and buy another one
Bit late now, but a useful tip with digital cameras is to keep a piece of white card at home with your contact details on. Whenever you download and erase your pics/reformat, take a photo of that piece of card so that your details are on the first picture in the camera.
Should you lose it - and if you're lucky - your camera may be found by an honest citizen who will then have the means to return it.

Andy Brierley: "Little known fact - if you make the pin hole from the inside out rather than outside in, the picture will be the right way up - try it."
Masher's comment is awesome
Groan Robert..... bog standard claim...!!
You are right about Masher, it is a brilliant tip. In fact, whenever I have a gadget problem, he has a top tip up his sleeve.
Hey Clare, I can't wait to visit. Needing a new camera gives me a bit of an excuse!
I don't wear sleeves.
Masher... now that I know you don't wear sleeves, I don't want to know where you pull your tips from ok?!
